Established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger, Operation Food Serach has become the largest distributor of free food int he bi-stqate area, helping to feed the region's poor. Operation Food Search distributes more than one million pounds of food and household items to 300 community partner agencies that in turn feed 100,000 poor people every single month. Nearly half the recipients are children. The OFS service area includes 30 Illinois and Missouri counties surrounding the city of St. Louis.
OFS's mission is to provide individuals in need with food and other basic necessities to help them alleviat ethe burden of hunger and its consequences.
St. Louis Pagan Picnic is proud to assist in OFS's cause. Each year barrels are placed at Picnic and attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods as part of their "admission" to the free activities provided at Picnic. Please remember to bring your donation this year, and make the lives of our area's poor just a little less burdensome.
