Volunteer for Picnic!


Greetings!

We are recruiting volunteers for the 2008 Pagan Picnic, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday June 7Th, and Sunday, June 8Th.

In order to have the Picnic ready for the weekend we need individuals who are willing to help work two hour shifts starting on Friday, June 6Th from 12 p.m. thru 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. thru 10 a.m. for Set-Up. On Sunday June 8th we will need volunteers to help Tear- Down from 5 p.m. thru 8 p.m.

MAINTENANCE OF THE PICNIC SITE DURING THE EVENT
This is a job that involves several areas of service. Everything from the setting up of hoses, administrative tents, making signs, the moving and placement of picnic tables, helping to unload Yarrow equipment, and setting up recycle bins, port-a-potties, etc., and of course, the dismantling of all that was previously put up after the picnic. Finally, clean-up after the picnic to make sure the park is in the same condition it was in prior to the picnic.

In order for the picnic to run efficiently we will need at least 12 volunteers for Friday from 12 p.m. thru 5 p.m. or later. Then we need at least 4 strong men or women to move tables and set up Yarrow / Picnic Administration tents at Tower Grove. We need 4 people to help ElBee unload equipment, etc, and 2 volunteers to set up signs at Tower Grove.

Saturday we need at least 28 volunteers to work two hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday we need at least 28 volunteers to work two hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This includes the volunteers that will be needed after 6 p.m. Sunday evening to help with the Break-Down of all the tents, bins, removal of all signs, and the picking up of all trash. So as you can see we could really use your help. It isn't a glamorous job but it is a job of great importance that is truly appreciated.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER
If Set-Up, Tear-Down or Site Maintenance isn't your cup of tea we have several other jobs that might interest you. For those interested in working with the children of our community, Susabelle is running the Kidzone again this year. This would involve helping in the preparation and presentation of various activities for the children attending the Pagan Picnic. Another area that is in need of volunteers is Security, El Bee will be heading up this area and needs motivated individuals to help make the Pagan Picnic a safe environment for all who are attending. Vending is also in need of volunteers to assist where needed.

The Information Booth will be sponsored by the Witches Hat Society (WHS), so any member of the WHS who would like to volunteer to help run the Information Booth is welcome to contact me about a time slot that works best for you.
