Artist Bio: Sundragon (Steve Thomas) has spent a lifetime immersed in creative self-expression, from drawing stick figures as a child to dragon heads in high school. He had a go at learning more about drawing at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado, but he decided to leave due to complications at the time. In his mid 20s, Sundragon found a fascination in woodworking by making walking sticks covered with Celtic knots, and he later moved into making jewelry. In his early to mid 30s, he discovered painting and felt painting an image was more forgiving than trying to make a piece of jewelry. Over the past 8 years, Sundragon has been exploring the world of acrylic paint with some dabbling in oil and other color media, which has helped create his way forward.
In the words of Sundragon:
“It is such a pleasure to bring beauty into the world. Not only is it an opportunity to turn pain and suffering into things of beauty, it is an opportunity to make the world a better place. As an artist looking into the world, it has become an amazing experience seeing more and more beauty in every tree and every blade of grass.
In this world full of hate, it has become an enlightening experience to see so much beauty, whether in nature or the city. It is my greatest wish that my art can contribute to the richness of your life and inspire you to be the best you that you can be.”
Sundragon will have a booth at Pagan Picnic, Vibration Creation, if you'd like to stop by to check out more of his work - or possibly adopt one to take home!
